Legal Disputes
When Families Fight: Preventing Disputes After Death
Disputes over wills and estate administration can lead to delays, stress, and fractured family relationships.
Find out common causes of estate disputes—such as will challenges and contested executorship—and how to avoid them through proper documentation, transparency, and professional guidance.
- Minimise Will Disputes
Wills can be contested for reasons like improper execution, undue influence, or lack of mental capacity. Clear documentation and assessments by professionals can help prevent such challenges. - Understand Executorship Risks
Executors may be challenged if they delay action or are deemed unfit. In intestate cases, administrators are appointed based on legal priority, but conflicts can still arise. - Practice Transparent Administration
Maintain proper records, consult beneficiaries where feasible, and engage professionals when needed. These steps protect executors and promote smoother estate administration.
